Automatic Assignments

How does automation work?

When you create or update a product in Shopify, the app automatically evaluates it against your shipping rules and assigns it to the correct profile.

This happens via webhooks - you don't need to do anything after setup.

Requirements

  • Active paid subscription (Standard plan)
  • At least one shipping rule created
  • Rules must be enabled (not disabled)

What triggers automatic assignment?

  • New product created - Evaluated immediately
  • Product updated - Re-evaluated when tags, vendor, weight, or price changes

Checking What Happened

Go to History to see all automatic (and manual) profile changes: - Which product was moved - From which profile → to which profile - Why (which rule matched) - When it happened

Troubleshooting

Product wasn't auto-assigned

Check these:

  1. Is your subscription active?
  2. Is the rule enabled?
  3. Does the product actually match the rule condition?
  4. Check History - maybe it was assigned but to a different profile

Wrong profile assigned

If a product is going to the wrong profile:

  1. Check rule priorities - higher priority wins
  2. Make sure conditions are correct (e.g., weight is in grams)
  3. Create a more specific rule with higher priority if needed
