Gift Card Express, “the App,” provides the ability for Shopify merchants to generate gift cards in bulk and optionally, email them to recipients.

This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, stored, and shared when the App is installed and used in connection with a Shopify-supported store. It has been updated to reflect compliance with global privacy standards, including GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regulations.

Personal Information the App Collects

When the App is installed, the following information is accessed from the merchant’s Shopify account:

  • Shop domain
  • Shopify ID
  • Owner email
  • Owner name

Additionally, the following types of information may be collected:

  • Merchant data: Information entered into the app, such as gift card details, including recipient name, email address, and expiration dates.
  • Customer data: For merchants using the app, data such as customer name, email address, and order details may be collected to facilitate the creation and delivery of gift cards.
  • App usage data: Information about how the app is used, including actions taken, IP address, browser type, time zone, and cookies (to improve app functionality and user experience).

Personal information is collected directly from merchants or their customers, through Shopify’s API, or via the following technologies:

  • Cookies: Data files placed on your device or computer to enhance the app’s functionality.
  • Log files: Track actions within the app and collect diagnostic information.
  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels: Electronic tools to monitor activity and optimize app features.

How Personal Information is Used

Personal information is collected to:

  • Provide and enhance the App’s core functionality, such as creating and managing bulk gift cards.
  • Allow merchants to resume incomplete sessions and maintain a history of imports for reference.
  • Communicate with merchants regarding app updates, features, or support inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations and prevent fraud or misuse of the app.

Email Communication: Merchants may receive emails about app updates or new features. Such emails are sent only after merchants have explicitly opted in.

Sharing Personal Information

We only share information when necessary to provide the service or comply with legal requirements. Third-party services we use include:

  • Supabase: For secure database storage and session management.

Personal information may also be shared:

  • To comply with laws, regulations, or legal requests (e.g., subpoenas).
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of Gift Card Express, merchants, or others.

Your Rights

For Residents of the European Economic Area (EEA):

  • You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information.

  • Note: Data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EEA, including Canada and the United States.

For California Residents (CCPA):

  • You have the right to know what personal data we collect and how it’s used.
  • You may request deletion of your data or opt out of data sharing.

Data Retention

We retain merchant and customer data as long as necessary to provide our services. Data is stored securely in Supabase. Upon uninstalling the App, data is retained to allow merchants to resume their work if they reinstall the App. You may request data deletion by contacting support@anatolilabs.com.

Minors

The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. Merchants are responsible for ensuring compliance with age restrictions for their customers.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or operational needs. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
